THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIA IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

We are in the age of science and technology. Man cannot live without the aid of science. Science and technology have so much enclosed our lives that nothing can take place without them. Our food, transport, learning, administration, recreation, and social life are all linked with science in various ways.

  The aim of science and technology is to search for the truth and to know things, so far unknown. Great discoveries and inventions are a result of reasoning. Civilization, as it is today, is the result of a number of revealings made in the field of science and technology. 

  India is an area where numerous superior brains have given their contributions to society. People across the country have been able to heighten the scientific and technological fields, making a better and more graceful place to live in. Now, India is among the very few countries that have developed ballistic missiles. Scientific research managed by Indian citizens has changed the way the world works. The various fields in which Indian scientists have excelled include mathematics, astronomy, medicine, space, and science.

  India has achieved countless contrivances in the field of science and technology. On 4 January 2001, HAL Tejas, India’s single-engine multirole light fighter, took its first flight. Tejas was inducted into the IAF after a tortuous saga spread over 33 long years, a long wait which was one of the biggest successes for India.

  Later in 2006, BrahMos entered into service in the Indian Navy. It was the world’s fastest anti-ship cruise missile in operation. And in 2008, Chandrayaan-1, which was India’s first unmanned space mission to the moon was launched.

  Subsequently, in 2009, India became one of five nations in the world to launch a nuclear submarine named INS Arihant. And further in the years, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), GSLV-D 5, PSLV-C37 were also launched, taking India into the elite group in the whole world. 

  India ranks among the topmost countries in the world in the field of scientific research, positioned as one of the top five nations in the field of space exploration. To summarize, Indian scientists have imparted amazingly to the development of India. The discoveries of Indian scientists have been appreciated all over the world. After independence, Indian scientists have shown their courage at a global level and have made India one of the scientific centers of attention in the world.

This was my entry for the CBSE Expression Series conducted from 22nd July to 4th August 2021. The topic of the essay writing contest was “The Achievements of India in the field of Science and Technology”.
