ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Praneeth Peddisetti, a 16-year-old teen passionate about literature.

What has this passion taught me?

It’s given me experiences I never expected—like the honor of being chosen as Literary captain at my school, topping in my English Board exams, and even sharing my words in the Times of India.

Before I dive deep into anything else, let me answer a question that might be aflame in your head—

What made me create this blog? Why a blog when vlogs are the real deal in this gen?

To answer that, we’ll have to go to the flashbacks.

2020. Pandemic. Lockdown.

While it was a downsizing phase of life, it did bring new opportunities—for growth, for learning.

Back then, I hadn’t even turned 12 yet.

The only books I had ever read till 6th grade were of Geronimo Stilton. I lived by this character Geronimo. Occasionally, I’d read the Wimpy Kid books, but Geronimo was my absolute favorite.

You see, these books were written in a different style—as though they were an autobiography. All the words and thoughts in the first person.

That aside, the idea behind these books fascinated me.

  • Being the editor and publisher for The Rodent’s Gazette, the most famous newspaper on New Mouse Island.
  • Sharing thoughts and adventure stories with the world.
  • Being a best-selling author in-universe.

Woah, right?

That’s what I felt too. And that’s where the dream began.

To write and to win—with words.

Enter lockdown, and within a month, I finished reading the twelve Geronimo books I had remaining.

Nothing left to read, huh? I had a few more novels lying around at home, but I didn’t bother to read them. Every time I tried something apart from Geronimo, I’d so far always been disappointed.

But as J.K. Rowling once said, “If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.”

I finally forced myself to pick up an Enid Blyton book. And that right there—it changed everything.

The restriction I put on myself to only read Geronimo was all gone.

Slowly, reading went from being a pastime to a hobby to a habit. As I read one novel after another, that dream of becoming a writer kept igniting.

What a wonderful sight it would be to watch when my own novel would someday be up on the shelves of libraries along with the books I was now reading!

With the little knowledge I’d gained about English literature from reading books, I began to write a novel in 2021.

No fancy writing space. No prior experience. Pure storytelling.

Of course, I was young and didn’t know how hard publishing a book was. I wrote and wrote and wrote until writer’s block hit at the 11th chapter, and I couldn’t take the story any further.

This was a big failure for me back then. 12-year-old me wanted to finish the book, get it published, make it a best-seller, and quickly climb up the ladder as an author.

Funny, I know. But looking back, I’m so glad to have accomplished as much at that age—reading daily and wanting to write a book, when all children around the globe were glued to their screens and video games.

This setback of not being able to finish the novel gave me another goal: to PUBLISH my work ASAP. Maybe not a novel, but publish my write-ups somewhere so that they could be recognized.

It was in June 2021 when I learned about this skill called “blogging”—the act of writing and sharing ideas, stories, or information online through posts on a website.

When I first created my blog on Blogger, this is what it looked like—

short story digests

Minimalist, but it served the purpose. The comments and appreciation I got on my posts motivated me to take it to a bigger scale—to own a website so that I could design and write the way I wanted to.

August 2021 was when I bought a website on WordPress. The same site I’ve written this About page on and the same site you’re reading this flashback from:)

Four years ago, at the age of 12, I turned my dream of being a novelist into reality by starting a blog. Since then, my passion for writing has only grown stronger.

For the past four years, I’ve been dedicated to writing fiction, poetry, and articles.

I write, I post, and I share my work with the world.

Money wasn’t my goal, but the appreciation I’ve received has been priceless.

Here’s what I’ve achieved so far:

  • Over 12.5 million views on Quora
  • 5K+ readers at praneethsays.com (and counting)
  • 30K+ impressions on LinkedIn (and counting)
  • Articles published in the Times of India

Fiction keeps me sane.

And I’d love it if you gave my fiction a read!

Each story and poem will captivate your imagination and improve your comprehension skills. Your feedback is precious to me, so please leave comments and share your thoughts.

Apart from writing, I enjoy reading books (Potterhead, always), and growing my personal brand on LinkedIn. I’ve been playing tennis for the past seven years and am also a big fan of cricket.

You can explore some of my work on Quora, where I’ve shared over 700 answers, and connect with me on LinkedIn. My novellas are available directly on this website for you to enjoy reading.

If you’re still reading this, it already feels like a win!

Thank you for visiting my About page. Looking forward to engaging with you through my posts.

I typically upload new content every few weeks, so stay tuned!
