This poem is about a girl’s emotions before her arranged marriage.
(post-engagement and prior wedding).
In a dance of tender hearts,
So young, so frail.
One loves deeply,
The other’s love still to unveil.
Her heart,
A vibrant tapestry,
Woven with love and loyalty.
His heart,
Seeking to date and go with the flow,
No bonds to bind, no roots to sow.
She threads him in a golden line,
Hoping their futures will entwine.
But his threads, a tangled skein,
Not much affection held within.
Empty texts, a hollow ring,
Does his heart even sing?
On quiet nights, her heart aches,
Dreaming of love, yet wide awake.
She craves a connection, a hand to hold,
A love story, brave and bold.
But tangled threads, her heart despairs,
A future worth a tear, is where?
When people ask what she is thinking,
He is, truly, that “nothing.”
She wonders if she’s doing wrong,
Or if their bond was never strong.
She’s scared, her heart in fear,
Being in love with him,
Waiting for him, holding him dear.
But in the end, she fears,
He’ll leave, and she’ll shed tears.
Days turn to nights, seasons pass by,
But the echoes of his care, seem to die.
In moments of silence,
She sheds a tear,
For the warmth she craves,
Seems nowhere near.
She’s caught in a tight circle of emotion,
In this situationship, love lacks devotion.
One day she sees, with teary eyes,
He’s moved on, to her surprise.
Her heart breaks, her tears fall.
She loved so deeply, but he was blind,
And now,
She must leave it all behind.
So with quiet steps, she walks away,
Knowing it’s not worth making him stay.
She’ll find her peace, with a silent tear,
And though he is gone, her path is clear.
Because,
Her love was real, despite her fear.
Her love was true, yet he’s not here.
And because,
Even in darkness,
There’s a glimmer of light,
A flicker of hope,
In life’s endless night.

Beautiful melancholic poem…. emotional pain is felt .
I liked the lines …. Empty texts, hollow ring , Does his heart ever sing? Unspoken tears, unheard sighs and heart wrenching pain endured as she is craving for meaningful connections. Her love remained as dream.
I enjoyed reading your poem.
