In a world of youthful dreams,
Two souls embarked on friendship’s stream.
A boy and a girl, side by side,
In laughter, comfort, they did confide.
With similarities and differences shared,
A bond they formed, truly rare.
Shoulders to lean on, in times so tough,
Their friendship grew, firm and enough.
The guy, he felt a growing spark,
A new feeling, it left a lasting mark.
He cared for her, with all his might,
And cherished it, every day and night.
Unspoken words, unexplored land,
He hoped his heart, she’d understand.
He saw in her, a love so deep,
Yet his secret, locked away, he’d keep.
Months flew by, they drifted apart,
Destiny’s hand played a cruel part.
When they reunited, his heart did pain,
For the girl he loved, was another man’s domain.
Her joy and laughter, once meant for him,
Now shone brightly, in the presence of them.
She treated him as just a friend,
Their closeness detached, it seemed to end.
We’re just friends,
That’s what they used to say.
Years later, he still said the same thing,
But in a distressing way.
He questioned, why a sudden shift?
His soul was shaken, his heart adrift.
Should he confess, or let it fade?
In her happiness, his own heart frayed.
He felt betrayed, in depths of despair,
Lost in a maze of love’s snare.
For in this tale of friendship’s woe,
A lesson lies for all to know.
Sometimes in silence, love finds defeat,
And hearts are broken, bitter and sweet.
At the end of this tale, we’re left to ponder,
If timing is cruel or destiny is, we wonder.
