Collab with Shruti.✨
Once upon a time,
we were children with stars in our eyes,
dreams so bright, they lit up the skies.
We made plans on paper—promises bold,
vowed to hold on,
to never let go of what was told.
But life moved fast,
like rivers that flow,
taking us to places—worlds we didn’t know.
We held tight to dreams,
though the paths weren’t clear,
some we outgrew, some disappeared.
The child within us watched,
quiet and keen,
reviewing our dreams, wondering where they’d been.
A reflection of us from our past,
the child is like those sunflowers—
kept at home, safe, in our favourite vase.
Always within us, in everything we do—
when we hide, when we run away,
the child is our ray of hope—the one cheering for us too.
The child smiles when we stumble,
when we fall, when we stray,
the child’s soft laugh, never fading away.
I wonder if the child is proud—
proud of the roads we chose,
if the child sees our heart, in each path we froze.
Life happened next,
and we did our best to stay true,
to that child, that dream, that innocent view.
We haven’t reached all we’d hoped to achieve,
but we learned to live, to hope, to believe.
And maybe the child knows,
watching over us now,
that dreams shift and reshape somehow.
Life happened,
and so much changed, it’s true,
but we held on tight, and together we grew.
