“Where there is no imagination, there is no horror.”

– Arthur Conan Doyle.

You have a picture of you sleeping on your mobile.

But you live alone.

“I can’t sleep,” she had said, tightly clutching my hand.

I wake up the next morning, only to realize she is unable to wake up.

“Is death really a punishment?” the child asked curiously.

“Yes, but not for the people who lost their loved ones,” his single mother replied.

“We want to see you become a topper!” his parents demanded.

“Sorry, I couldn’t fulfill your dream,” he wrote in his suicide letter.

It has been watching you for an hour now.

Sometimes you see its reflection on your blank computer screen, but you dare not turn around.

“Why don’t I have hair, dad?” the little girl asked.

“You’re a princess, darling; you don’t need hair to prove it,” his father responded, teary-eyed.

You can’t move, breathe, speak or see anything.

Only if you knew this was going to be so scary, you’d have chosen to be cremated instead.

You hear knocking on a glass in the middle of the night.

You thought it was from the window, until you heard the sound come from the mirror again.

You hear your mom calling your name from the kitchen.

As you progress downstairs, you see blood spread out on the kitchen floor.

“What happened to that ‘Best Friends Forever’ group?” they asked.

“It diminished,” I replied.

From non-stop conversations to unseen messages.

We are strangers again.

“Laugh till your stomach hurts,” they said.

The pregnant mother thereby made her first sacrifice.

“Nobody stays forever,” the depressed teenager said.

“I’ll be your nobody, then,” his soul answered.

The last thing you saw was your clock flashing ’12:03’ and the next thing you realize, a demon is piercing her nails deep into your heart, a vicious grin spread across her face.

You wake up with your t-shirt soaked with sweat, relieved it was only a dream, until you see your clock showing ’12:02’ and your bedroom door slowly creaking open.

“What do you think; will people like this post?” the inner me asks.

“Let’s see,” I respond, smiling.
